Nellie Sapp Burge

Funeral services for Nellie Sapp Burge, age 89 will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at West Lake Baptist Church in Doyline, Louisiana with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. Officiating will be Bro. Mike Sanders. Interment will follow at Point Chapel Cemetery in Doyline, Louisiana under the direction of Rose Neath Funeral Home in Minden, Louisiana.

Mrs. Burge was born on February 20, 1936, in Minden, Louisiana to Eva and Youree Sapp and passed away on December 21, 2025, in Bossier City, Louisiana. She was a resident of Doyline, Louisiana. She worked at the Minden Press Herald in Minden and retired from Newspaper Production Company/ The Times in Shreveport after 35 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James, on May 16, 2002, and son Mark Burge in August 2016.

She is survived by her son, Mike Burge of Doyline, four grandchildren, and six great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Nick Burge, Robby Burge, Allen Burge, Brad Bates, Scott Spears, and Matt White.
