Nelda Jeanette Simmons

Nelda Jeanette Simmons was born July 21, 1944, in Mansfield, Louisiana and passed away after a short illness on December 22, 2025, in Mansfield, Louisiana.

Nelda was preceded in death by her parents, James Simmons and Manell Daniels; brother, Olan Simmons and daughter, Malissa Tatum.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Genea Tatum and son, Charles “Chuckie” Wratchford (Amanda). Grandchildren, Jason Coffey, Malissa Gianfala, Vincent Gianfala, Emma Christensen, Parker Wratchford, Ethan Wratchford and Addison Wratchford.

Nelda served in the US Army where she was a decorated marksman and sharpshooter. Beyond her service, she was known for her strength and no-nonsense attitude. She never met a stray animal she didn’t love and want to help.

A private service is being held by her family.
