Gerry was born September 1, 1940 in Independence, Louisiana to Simpson and Vertis Herring and had two brothers, Marvin and Larry Herring. Gerry graduated from Albany High School in 1958,  married Albert H. Moore Sr. and started their family in Baker, Louisiana. In 1973 Gerry and her family moved to Shreveport, where Albert Sr. began his teaching career in Mathematics. Gerry worked as a homemaker and enjoyed a wonderful life together with Albert, their children and his two sister’s families until Albert Sr passed away in 1979 at at the age of 42. After being widowed at the age of 39 ,with 4 teenage children to care for, Gerry was blessed that the Lord would bring a godly  man into her life that would love and cherish her and her children as his own. Gerry and Billy Jack Hogg or “BJ” as he was affectionately known, would live a life of adventure for the next 43 years, traveling the world, skiing, dancing and motor-home camping. They initially lived in a mountain home overlooking Gilmer, Texas, where Bj worked as a pharmacist and ran the family business at Gilmer Drug Store. When BJ retired, he and Gerry moved to the golf course at Holly Lake, in Big Sandy Texas where they enjoyed their newly retired life of golfing, fishing, spending time with their many lovely friends and grandchildren!  About 20 years ago Gerry and BJ made the decision to move to Shreveport where they found a home close (just around the corner) to her daughter, Jerrie and made many new friends in their neighborhood at Acadiana Place and with their new church family.  Gerry lived a life of hope and heartbreak and of sorrow and joy and blessing. Gerry was loved dearly by her family and many friends and will be  missed by all.

“O give thanks unto the LORD for he is good: for his mercy endures forever. Psalms 107:1
