With heartfelt love and deep admiration, we celebrate the life of Nelda Marie Blair, who passed away peacefully on November 28, 2024, at the age of 87, in her home in Haughton, Louisiana.
Born on July 1, 1937, in Oakland, Illinois, Nelda was the daughter of the Chase William and Willmetta Marie Temples and the beloved sister of Larry and Glenn Temples. At age 20, she moved to Bossier City, Louisiana, where she found her place and built a legacy rooted in family, dedication, and a love for life’s journey.
Nelda was married to her late husband, Dale Martin Blair, for 22 years, during which time they raised five wonderful children. Nelda was immensely proud of her family, who brought her countless moments of joy and fulfillment.
Nelda is survived by her son RogerDale Blair and his children, Christopher (wife Clair) and Paula Bardales; her son Dayrel Blair, who lovingly remembers his late son Sean (1987); her son Raymond Blair and his daughter Faith; her daughter LaNell Boaz (husband John) and their children Clint (wife Maghan), Crystal (husband Matt), and Charidy (husband Micah), Peyton and Luke; and her son Glenn Blair (wife Tara) and their children Matthew, Cameron (wife Megan), Annabeth (husband Quan), Noah, Micah, Josiah, Meagan, Charity, and Emily.
Nelda dedicated more than 45 years of her life to her role as a scrub technician at Bossier Medical Center, a role she embraced with unparalleled passion. She loved her work, thriving quickly and having the chance to contribute to others’ well-being. Her colleagues and patients admired her expertise, reliability, and the joy she brought to the job. For Nelda, her career was more than work; it was a calling that gave her purpose and fulfillment.
A longtime member of the Pentecostals of Bossier City Church, Nelda valued the fellowship and sense of community she found there. Her life reflected the strength and growth of someone who embraced both challenges and blessings with grace and determination.
Nelda’s life was a testament to the power of hard work, dedication, and love for family. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, loyalty, and an inspiring work ethic that will be remembered by all who knew her.
Nelda’s life will be celebrated on December 14 at noon at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City.
