Nancy Louise Gallaspy Watson was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Jewel Gallaspy; her brother, Robert “Bob” Gallaspy; her brother-in-law, Grady Morris; and her nephew, Cody Welborne.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Crystal Kirkman and Sherri Wolfe (husband Ronnie); her sisters, Jeanie Morris and Bennie Hall (husband Tommy); her brother, Jim Gallaspy (wife Betty); along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Nancy was a woman whose strength was undeniable and whose will was unbreakable. In 2022, she was diagnosed with stage IV cancer and was given timelines by doctors. However, Nancy was never one to be defined by predictions or limits. She made it her goal to exceed every expectation, and she did just that. She fought her diagnosis with courage, determination, and a stubborn resolve to prove the doctors wrong. Her medical team was left in awe of how far she came after her diagnosis.
Her strength was not only evident in her battle with cancer, but in the way she lived her life. Nancy was strong-willed and deeply devoted to her family. She loved her daughters in quiet, steady, unwavering ways. She showed her love through protection, sacrifice, and presence. She may not have always spoken the words, but her love was dependable, enduring, and true—just like she was.
Nancy taught her daughters to be brave, even when afraid. She taught them how to keep going when the road felt unbearable. She taught them strength. Though she did not choose this battle, she chose how to face it, waking each day with courage and determination.
Her greatest legacy is not measured by a timeline, but by the strength she passed on to her children. Her body may have grown weary, but her will never wavered. Strength was something no illness could ever take away.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Superior Hospice for their compassion, care, and support.
