Nancy Charlene Meeker

Memorial services celebrating the life of Nancy “Charlene” Meeker will be held Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Rose Neath Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Crider officiating. The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service time.

Charlene was born on January 3, 1955, in Alexandria, Louisiana and went to be with her Lord on May 19, 2025, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Beatrice Gorum; brothers, Phillip Gorum, Charles Wayne Gorum, Joseph Gorum and Kenneth Gorum; and sister, Dorothy Middleton.

She is survived by her husband, Samuel Meeker of Minden; son Brian Meeker (Alisha); sister, Barbara Haynes (Richard) of Shreveport; brother, David Lynn Gorum (Jan) of Cotter, Arkansas; grandson Grey Meeker and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

To know Charlene was to love her and feel loved by her through her nurturing, selfless nature. She had an in-home daycare for 25 years where she was able to instill many lessons into the hearts and minds of the kids she kept. Once this chapter of her life was complete, she devoted her days to spending time with her family; upholding traditions that she and Sammy carried from the time Brian was born. Charlene loved being the roles of wife, mom and mother in love but the title she cherished the most was CC to Grey. Her smile shined brightest when she and Grey spent time cooking and decorating for the holidays. Crawfish boils, Jimmy Buffett and the Beach Boys always got her jiggin’ and shrimp boils for her birthday were a must. Her love was infectious and forever we will carry her in our hearts.
