Nancy Lee Owens

A private graveside service for Nancy Lee Owens, 76, will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Brushwood Cemetery, 3183 Hwy. 531 in Dubberly, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Reverend Wishy Nolan. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, January 17, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of First United Methodist Church, 500 Common St. in Shreveport, Louisiana . Officiating the memorial service will be Reverend Carl Rhoades. Nancy was born on September 24, 1945 to Marvin Jewel Pruett and Viva Humphries Pruett in Dallas, Texas and passed away on January 8, 2022 in Bossier City, Louisiana. Nancy was a resident of Shreveport and worked as a licensed LCSW Clinical Social Worker before retiring. She was also a local pastor in Northeast Louisiana. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 16 years, Rev. Raymon L. Owens, Jr.; son, Benjamin Perkins and wife, Jenny, and their son, Will; daughter, Katie Glaeser and husband, John and their children, Aedan and Jonas; sisters, Melinda Baxter, Kay Phillips and husband, Billy; brother, Jewel Pruett; and numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family members and friends. The family would like to thank St. Joseph Hospice, Carpenter House, and Riverview Care Center for all the wonderful care, compassion given to Nancy during her illness.
