It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nancy Jean Ashley Treadway, age 74, who peacefully passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.
A visitation will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath South Funeral Home in Shreveport. Funeral services will take place the following day, Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., also at Rose-Neath South. Officiating the service will be Reverend Willis Dear.
Nancy was born on August 13, 1950, to Clarence and Iona Ashley in Shreveport, Louisiana. Nancy was raised in the Southern Hills neighborhood of Shreveport, where she built lifelong friendships that she cherished deeply. Nancy met her true love, Bob Treadway, in 10th grade at Woodlawn High School where their love story began and blossomed into a 56-year marriage, a bond they celebrated just days before her passing. Together, they raised their family in Grand Cane, Louisiana, where they built a lifetime of memories.
Nancy was a proud mother and grandmother, affectionately known as Memaw to her four grandsons and two great-granddaughters. Nancy was known to all friends and acquaintances as warm and caring, with a sweet nature that was apparent to everyone she met.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Iona Ashley. Left to honor her memory is her devoted husband of 56 years, Bob Treadway of Grand Cane, LA; son, Robert Treadway and wife, Kelly, of Huntington, TX; daughter, Amy Treadway Welton and husband, Rickye, of Shelbyville, TX; grandsons, Chris Treadway, Matthew Treadway, Garrett Welton, and Gage Welton; great-granddaughters, Audree and Emilee Treadway; and numerous cousins and lifelong friends.
In addition, the family wishes to acknowledge the special care given by the doctors Nancy lovingly referred to as her “Guardian Angels”: Dr. David Abdehou, Dr. Meghan Harris, Dr. Gretchen Yandle, Dr. John Bienvenu, and Dr. Clifford Rice, whose compassion and expertise meant the world to her.
Honorary pallbearers include Jimmy Harlan Ashley, Chris Ashley, Pedro Puentes Ricardy, John Pattison, Krisdi Calhoun, and Kasidi Calhoun.
Nancy’s warmth, kindness, and devotion to family and friends will be deeply missed, but her spirit and love will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her.
