Mrs. Nancy Brazzil Farmer, 89, loving grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother “GG”, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2026 after a lengthy illness. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 23, 2026 at Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent. Officiating will be Monsignor Rothell Price of St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic Church.

Mrs. Farmer, born December 10, 1936 in Marshall, TX, was a resident of Shreveport, LA for most of her life. She graduated from C.E. Byrd High School and Centenary College earning her Master’s +30. She was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha and Phi Delta Kappa. While at Centenary she met and married her best friend and love of her life, James “Jim” D. Farmer. She went on to become a devoted 2nd grade teacher and an Instructional Coordinator for Caddo Parish Schools for over 30 years. She was a member of Eastern Star, Ester Circle, Daughters of the Nile, and the Gold Tigers. She also enjoyed her time with the Wicks Sunday School group at Christ United Methodist Church. Most of all, Mrs. Farmer loved to travel with her husband, daughter, and grandchildren.

Mrs. Farmer was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby and Carson Alvin Brazzil; her loving husband of 50 years, James “Jim” David Farmer, and her daughter, Debra F. Hogan. She is survived by her grandchildren, Heather H. Porter and husband, Ian, Jon D. Hogan, and Lindsay H. Dillon and husband, William “Billy” Dillon; great-grandchildren, Erin Gray, Connor Gray, Sara Martin, Madison Bollinger, Mackinzie Bollinger, Skylar Hogan, and Reese Porter; and great-great-granddaughter, Kehlani Webb.

Pallbearers will be Jon Hogan, Ian Porter, William “Billy” Dillon, Bubba Cordaro, John D. Porter, and Michael Wilder.

The family requests that all flowers be sent to Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, Louisiana. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital or Alzheimer’s Association.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Gentiva Hospice. Mrs. Farmer looked forward to her weekly visits with her nurses.
