N. Jean Wilson

Nancy Jean Wilson, born July 29, 1950, in Monroe Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026, surrounded by all her family. She was the daughter of Cordis Lavell and Mildred Mae Lenard in West Monroe, Louisiana. She was the oldest child of three children, her sister, Lynn Leehy and brother, Glenn Lenard. She was the best big sister.

Jean graduated from West Monroe High School and during her senior year married the love of her life, Samuel Wilson. Her and Sam have been married for 58 years. They went on to have three children of their own and raised their family in Haughton, Louisiana.

Jean was a woman who truly loved life and the people in it. She found joy in simple pleasures like bowling, traveling, and hitting the open road in her motor home, but more than anything, she cherished being around others. To know her was to love her, she never met a stranger, and her warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.

Throughout her life, she built meaningful connections through her work in sales and later as a banker, where she formed relationships that went far beyond business. Her natural ability to connect with people, paired with her strong leadership skills, made her someone others looked up to and trusted. She took great pride in organizing and leading events over the years, from bowling tournaments to gun shows, bringing people together and creating spaces filled with laughter, community, and shared memories.

Her faith was the foundation of her life. She deeply loved her church and treasured being part of that community, which she considered an extension of her family. A strong woman of God, she lived her life with grace, compassion, and unwavering faith.

Above all else, her greatest love was her family. She adored her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family, and her legacy lives on through each of them. Her love was constant, her presence was comforting, and her impact will be felt for generations to come.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cordis Lavell and Mildred Mae Lenard, and her in-laws, Jessie and Luella Wilson.

She is survived by her husband, Samuel Wilson; son, David & wife, Adrienne Wilson; daughter, Kristie & husband, Tim Jones; daughter, Jessica Wilson; 10 grandchildren, Jordan (Dana), Brandon (Kassie), Lauren (Zach) Drake, Blake (Kendal), Christian, Addison, Cameron, Cade (Taylor) and Charlea; nine great grandchildren, and one on the way.
