Myrna Rae Touchstone

SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services for Miss Myrna Rae Touchstone, 77, will be held at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel, October 29, 2016 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Dr. Chuck McInturf of Woodridge Baptist Church. Visitation will be held immediately before the service, beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery. Miss Touchstone was born in Gustine, Texas, on March 23, 1939 to Raymond Touchstone and Willie Mae Bishop Touchstone, who both preceded her in death. She passed away on October 26, 2016, at The Guest House in Shreveport, LA. She attended Caddo School for Exceptional Children, and enjoyed participating in meetings of the Indoor Sports Club for several years. She was a member of Summer Grove Baptist Church for most of her life, and loved attending and seeing her friends there. She especially loved Bro. Eddie DeHondt, Bro. Billy Crosby, and Bro. Wayne DuBose, who all made her feel very special. Survivors include siblings, W. Joseph Touchstone, M.D., of Brewerton, NY, Tim Touchstone and wife, Mary Beth, of Shreveport, LA, and Judy Graves and husband, Morris, also of Shreveport, LA. She is also survived by her nephews and nieces, who she adored, Randy Graves, Jason Touchstone, Kim Pellergrin, Suzie Head, and Mandy Sullivan. She also leaves an extended family of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and one aunt. Her family will miss her dearly, but we rejoice in the fact that she is reunited with her Mother and Daddy, that her body is no longer bound by cerebral palsy, and that she is able to walk the streets of Heaven. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Woodridge Baptist Church Building Fund. The family is grateful for the loving care Miss Touchstone received at The Guest House, and for the many friends she made there. They would also like to thank John Smith, her own personal "Elvis," who visited the nursing home many times, singing her favorite songs. Myrna was a remarkable individual, and we are grateful that God chose and entrusted us to care for His special creation. Our lives are richer because of this blessing, and we will remain forever changed because of our time with her.
