A funeral service honoring the life of Myrna Ann Melton, 81, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 22, 2021. Interment will follow at Union Springs Cemetery. Officiating the service will be Reverend David Permenter. Myrna was born to Roosevelt Fisher and Nema Fisher on November 10th, 1940 in Converse, Louisiana and entered into eternal rest on December 19, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Myrna was a resident of Grand Cane, Louisiana and worked as Supervisor at the Mansfield Sewing and Garment Factory for many years. Myrna loved being outside and enjoyed doing tasks such as mowing the yard, planting flowers, tending to the gardens, working in the flowerbeds, burning brush piles, and other yard work. She was a caring person who loved raising her kids, taking care of all animals, checking on her neighbor, riding her golf cart, and doing housework. She could often be found spending time with her grandkids and "Fussing at everyone." Myrna was a special soul who will be dearly missed. Myrna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Melbourne Louie Melton; brothers, Duke Fisher, and R.V. "Cat" Fisher, Jr.; her sisters, Sadie Shirley and "Nig" Ammons, and her step-grandson, Staff Sergeant Richard Lee Vazquez. Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Shirley Wheeler; her sons, Bryan Melton and wife, Teresa, and Richard Melton and wife, Sheilah; daughter, Susan Powell and husband, Robert; grandchildren, Brandon Melton and wife, Nicole, Hannah Melton and Meghan Melton; step-grandchildren, Christine Thomas, Romario Vazquez, and Celza Sauceda; great-grandchildren, Baylor Melton and Emmalee Melton, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives. Honoring Myrna as pallbearers will be Steve Melton, John Ebarb, Dustin Pilcher, Chase Fisher Mark Fisher, and Bubba English. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Aaron Maroney, Trevor Martin, Barry Rambin, and Rodney Fisher.
