Myra Geraldine Williams, 101, of Florien, Louisiana entered into eternal rest on February 22, 2022, in Leesville, Louisiana.
Graveside services honoring the life of Geraldine will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 27, 2022, located at Florien Cemetery in Florien, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Bro. Gil Arthur.
Geraldine was born on May 10, 1920, in Vowells Mill, Louisiana to Robert Randel Sandel and Vonciel Geohagan Sandel. She was a graduate of Florien High School where she played on the Lady Black Cats basketball team and was referred to as "Half-Pint." Geraldine was a Christian who always kept God first in her life. Her love for all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was a driving point for her. She was a great cook who enjoyed feeding her family and friends. Her favorite dish to prepare with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was homemade chicken and dumplings.
Geraldine is preceded by her parents, Robert Randel Sandel and Vonciel Geohagan Sandel; husband, James Norman Chance and husband, Winfred Williams; son, Bobby Joe Chance; and sisters, Iva Lea Arthur, Evonne Gandy, and Chloe Oliver. She is survived by her son, James Gerald Chance of Quitman, Texas; daughter, Faye Renee Beason of Florien, LA; special daughters-in-law, Kay Chance and Betty Chance; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Honoring Geraldine as pallbearers will be Phil Arthur, Bruce Gandy, Grant Beason, Kevin Taylor, Jonathan Chance, Jimmy Verhalen, Zachary Taylor, and Randall Oliver. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Charles Gale Arthur and Robert Lance Arthur.
