Murry Franklin Weir

Murry Franklin Weir, age 77, of Mansfield, Louisiana, passed away August 27, 2025, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was born February 28, 1948, in Logansport, Louisiana, to Willie Calvin and Vera Lee Whitten Weir.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 943 Polk St., Mansfield, LA 71052. Funeral services celebrating the life of Murry will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 31, 2025, with Bro. Freddie Wayne Wilford officiating. Honoring Murry as pallbearers will be Dale Weir, Brandon Melton, Matt Hill, Roger Whitlock, Baylor Melton and Gabriel Sanchez Weir. Honorary Pallbearer will be Lonnie Anderson.  Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery, 325-661 Bethel Rd., Logansport, LA 71049.

Murry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Eugene Hoell and Amos “Dicky” Weir; and sisters, Hazel Christine Murphy and Nell Medlin. Left to cherish his memory include his wife, Sara Jane Weir; sons, Willie Franklin Weir (Stacey) and Robert Allen Weir (Krystal); daughter, Kay Ogletree; sister, Jean Hill; brothers, Gary Dale Weir (Mary) and Jimmy Wayne Weir; grandchildren, Tabitha, Gabriel, and Noah Weir, Aidan Murry Quaid, and Kimber, Wesson, and Remington Weir; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
