Homer - Funeral services will be held for Mrs. Willie Ola Carpenter, age 76, at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Arcadia. Rev. Derrell Cardwell will officiate. Interment will follow at Tulip Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 on Monday, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Ola was born November 24, 1942, to Andrew Rogers and Ethyl Carter Lee, in Bienville Parish. She passed away on March 23, 2019, in Homer, LA. Ola was of the Pentecostal faith. Ola was a fiercely independent woman who has put up a fight and battled lung cancer for 4 years. She was skillful at needlework and enjoyed a good day of fishing on the pond. She is lovingly referred to by many grandchildren as Mammaw "Olie". She will be missed by her daughter and family. Ola is preceded in death by her parents Andrew Rogers and Ethyl Lee, significant other Cary Lee, step daughter Cindy Robinson, and by 3 brothers. She is survived by her daughter Jacqueline "Beth" Elizabeth Carpenter, step daughter Vicki Myers and husband Robert, step son Wesley Pixley and wife Jennifer, step daughter Sonja Pixley, step son-in-law Donnie Robinson and wife Rhonda, by 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and by her special friends Debbie Hudson and Sandra Stone. Pallbearers will be Wesley Pixley, Nick Matter, Jeremy Scott, Jimmy Hall, Gavin Hall, and Garrett Hall.
