Buster was born on March 5, 1935 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Morris Shepherd Lewis and Thelma Oden Lewis and passed away on January 23, 2022 in Shreveport. Morris was a resident of Shreveport where he was born and raised. He was a graduate of Fair Park High School and served in the United States Air Force. He was married to Carol Ann Southerland for 60 years. Morris had a 39 year career in data processing as the manager/vice-president of Statistical Service Company and Computer Statistics Inc. (CSI Telepay). Morris was an amateur photographer. He and his wife, Carol, loved to travel, finding new experiences camping, fishing, and taking pictures; especially at Beaver's Bend, Oklahoma and numerous places in Colorado. He loved to whittle on walking sticks from the places he visited and playing with woodworking while at home. He was an avid reader and knife collector, but found his greatest joy supporting Carol's painting career and spending every opportunity with grandchildren. Morris came to saving faith in Jesus Christ at Billy Graham's Evangelistic Crusade in Shreveport back in 1951 and was baptized at Kelly Memorial Baptist Church. He was a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church in Shreveport. He was known for loving the Lord and encouraging others to surrender to Jesus Christ wherever someone would listen. Morris was preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Thelma Lewis; sister, Joyce Gardner; and brother, Tommy Lewis. Morris is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carol Lewis; son, Morris S. "Trey" Lewis, III (Jill); three daughters, Janice Schatzer (Lee), Sherry Stilley (Jay), Beth Moore (Joe); ten grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
