Minnie Mae Downs

Funeral services were held for Minnie Mae Downs, 83, at the Chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer on Monday, March 3, 2014, at 2:00pm with Rev. Randy Hales, officiating. Interment followed at Arlington Cemetery. The family received friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, at 405 E. 5th Street in Homer on Sunday from 3-6pm. Mrs. Downs was born December 3, 1930 to Sydney and Vera Dick in Leton, La. She entered into rest Friday, February 28, 2014 in Homer. Mrs. Downs was preceded in death by two sisters, Ammie Cole and Lodi Cole; and son-in-law, Don Tanner. She is survived by one son, David Downs and wife Judy of Ville Platte, La; two daughters, Mary Tanner of Homer and Brenda Boyette and husband, Rusty of Shreveport; five grandchildren, Amy Wondergem and husband John, Chelsea Boyette, Ashlyn Boyette, Heather and Sammy Smith and Steven Anglin and wife, Kelly; great-grandchildren, Gracie, Alexia, Chrissie and Heath; niece, Faye Risinger and husband, Troy; nephew, Tommy Cole and family. Pallbearers were Rick Keith, Gerald Allen, Gary Smith, Sammy Smith, Steven Anglin and Bill Fennel. Honorary pallbearer was John Wondergem.
