A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mildred Morgan Quigley Coughlin Yates will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Haughton Cemetery in Haughton, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Officiating the service will be Tony Nations.
Mildred Morgan Quigley Coughlin Yates, 97, a long-time resident of Bossier City, died at 2:28 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, due to complications of old age.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra Quigley Coughlin Krepak; son-in-law, Jonathan D. Krepak; grandchildren, Gary T. Krepak, and Tiffany Krepak Blaine; and great-grandchildren, Alex Krepak, Zachery Krepak, and Paisley Blaine.
She was preceded in death by her father, Hulan Morgan; mother, Verna Mae Morgan; her son, Gary Edwin Quigley Coughlin; brothers, Hugh Morgan, Dewey Morgan, Carl Morgan, and Roy Morgan; sisters, Edna Morgan Hicks, Josephine Morgan Jennings; and widowed by Virgil Edwin Quigley and also by Thomas Francis Coughlin; and great-grandson, Dylan Blaine.
Mildred loved her southern heritage. She loved flowers such as roses, lilies, and hydrangeas. Country and gospel were her favorite music choices, and her favorite song was “How Great Thou Art.” Due to mobility issues, she enjoyed watching the Guthrie program every Thursday night, along with watching First Methodist Church every Sunday morning. She practiced the Baptist faith for many years and converted to the Episcopalian faith in 1969, and later in life started following the Methodist religion.
Amongst other things, she loved Blue Bell ice cream, Italian cream cake, Jell-O, and southern favorites like purple hull peas, yellow squash, corn, and many others. She made the most fantastic spaghetti and meat sauce from a recipe one of her friends of Italian heritage gave her many years ago. She had a very kind heart and loved taking care of her patients for over 20 years at the Northwest Louisiana Development Center for the mentally and physically challenged.
In her earlier years, she loved traveling to the mountains, going to the Louisiana Hayride, listening to KWKH every morning, gardening, talking on the phone, and playing with her beloved dog and best friend, “Scout,” whom she deeply missed along with numerous family members and friends. Mildred loved her family more than you could ever imagine and was always there when you needed her.
The family is very thankful for all the love and support that has been shown during this difficult time. She’s resting easy now and with all the people and pets that had the privilege to know and love her.
The family would like to acknowledge the Peters family and especially the Maggio family for their care and concern for her always. The family would also like to thank Ms. Chris Green for being a helpful and faithful friend and neighbor, and also to Mrs. Mary Morgan as well. Also, the family would like to thank Bristol Hospice, Jessica, and Q for all the love and care provided to her.
Honoring Mildred as pallbearers will be Gary Krepak, Alex Krepak, Zack Krepak, Jonathan Krepak, Caden Laffite, and Paisley Blaine.
