SHREVEPORT, LA - Praise be to Almighty God! Mildred G. Edmiston, 97 years old, has finally gotten her desire fulfilled. She transitioned from her earthly home to her eternal home with Jesus on February 8, 2019.
Mom was a shining example of a Christian. We, her family, and friends, were so blessed to have her in our lives. She will be greatly missed every day, but will now receive her reward which she richly deserves.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Joseph and Anna Canterbury, her brother, David Canterbury, her husband, Odell Edmiston and her son, Harold Edmiston. Survivors include her daughter, Ann; her grandchildren, Marjorie, Christina and Victoria; and her great-grandchildren, Maddie Cobb and Caleb Edmiston. Thank you, God for allowing us to be in her life.
A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2019, at Ebenezer Cemetery, Jonesboro, LA, with Rev. Gene Nix officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday, February 11, 2019, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, LA.
