Mike David Mitchell

Funeral services will be held for Mr. Michael “Mike” David Mitchell, age 62, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 405 East 5th Street, Homer, LA, on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Tony Walton, officiating. Interment will be at Lebanon Cemetery near Haynesville, LA. Visitation will be at the funeral home from noon-1 p.m., prior to the service.

Mike was born April 8, 1964, at Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City, LA, to Marshall D. and Nina Hollenshead Mitchell. He entered into rest on November 2, 2026, in Shreveport, LA. Mike lived in many different places stateside and even aboard in Germany. He graduated from Homer High School in 1982. Mike met the love of his life, Betty, at a parts’ house where he was working. He traveled a lot for work and pleasure over the years. Mike worked for TRK Casing Cheyenne, WY, where he was a DOT Supervisor. He enjoyed taking Betty and the grandchildren Garage Sale shopping on a regular basis. Mike was a devoted husband, father and grandfather that will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his father, Marshall Dwain Mitchell.

He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Betty Mitcham Mitchell; mother, Nina Sanders Mitchell; two daughters, Carrie Moak and husband William and Ashley Urbanczyk and husband Aaron; sister, Wendy Mitchell; four grandchildren, Harlie Moak, Kinley Bailey, Fynn Urbanczyk and Adella Urbanczyk; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Mike’s family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Salmon and Claiborne Memorial Medical Center for the care and compassion shown him.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Hollenshead, Keith Hollenshead, Matt Hollenshead, Heath Hollenshead, Reed Bailey, and Jonathan Williams.

Honorary pallbearers will be David Anglin, Raymond Hollenshead, Jr., Greg Pesnell and Rodney Clarkson.
