It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Owen Mike Eskew on May 13, 2026, at the age of 73. Mike was embraced by the love and warmth of his family in his final moments, passing gently from this world as he had lived: surrounded by those he held dear.

Born on May 23, 1952, in Minden, Louisiana, Mike was the cherished son of Owen M Eskew and Dorothy Almond Eskew, both of whom have preceded him in death. His upbringing in Minden was marked by strong family bonds and a deep connection to his community. A proud alumni of Minden High School, Mike carried the values of integrity and kindness learned in his youth throughout his life.

For 26 dedicated years, Mike served the community of Minden as a valued employee at Minden Medical Center, where his presence was synonymous with warmth and reliability. Known for his ever-present smile and heartwarming hugs, Mike had a natural ability to make everyone feel at ease. His playful spirit was expressed through gentle teasing, a sure sign of his affection and care for those around him.

Mike’s legacy of love and laughter lives on through his devoted wife of 38 years, Grace Eskew, whose unwavering partnership and love were the cornerstones of his happiness. Together, they built a family that was his greatest pride and joy. Mike leaves behind his beloved children: sons Brandon Eskew (April) and Matthew Eskew (Macey), and daughter Haley Eskew (Elbert). His grandchildren, Makenzie Eskew, Hallie Mae Eskew, Seth Brewster, and Gracyn Brewster, were the lights of his life, and he cherished each moment spent with them. Not a day went by without a trip to the Dollar General for snacks, ensuring his dear Hallie Mae was never without.

Mike is also remembered by his loving siblings, Mary Ann Lee, Lynn Eskew (Roxanne), and Amy Acklen (John). The bonds shared with his family were a testament to his nurturing spirit and unwavering dedication to those he loved.

Mike was an active member of Fryeburg Baptist Church, where he found fellowship and purpose. A man of simple pleasures, Mike found joy in the company of friends and family. His passion for deer hunting with his sons created memories that will be treasured forever. These moments in nature, surrounded by the laughter and camaraderie of his sons, were some of his happiest times.

A celebration of Mike’s life will be held on May 16, 2026, where friends and family will gather to honor the remarkable man he was. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the ER team at Minden Medical Center and the ICU team at Ochsner LSU for their compassionate care during Mike’s final days.

Owen Mike Eskew will be deeply missed, yet his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. As we bid farewell to a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, we find solace in the countless memories and the enduring love he leaves behind.
