Funeral services will be held for Mickie Sneed Hewitt, age 68, at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Arcadia. Rev. Robert Leach will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Saturday. Interment will follow the service at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mickie was born December 16, 1950 to Carl Sneed and Polly Hines Hall, in Jonesboro, LA. Mickie graduated from Logansport High School and went on to earn her Master\'s in Education from Lamar University. She was a teacher and a special education diagnostician for the Desoto Parish School Board. Mickie was lovingly devoted to her children and family and had an immense love for learning and traveling. She passed away on April 2, 2019 in Shreveport, LA.
Mickie is preceded in death by her father, Carl Sneed. She is survived by her son, David Hewitt and wife Laurie; daughter, Abby Hewitt; father of her children, Joe Hewitt; her mother, Polly Hines Hall; by her siblings, Carla Sneed, Johnnie Sue Oran and husband Ron, Cindy Bussey and husband Mike, and Charles Sneed; and by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Bob Hines, Paul Trosclair, P.D. Tolar, Ron Oran Jr, Jeff Oran, and Cody Clary.
