A Celebration of Life for Michael Seely Storey, 69, will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive Bossier City, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Caroline Wilkinson Chaplin of Lifepath Hospice. Michael was born August 23, 1952 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Seely Monroe Storey and Helen Vaughan Storey. He passed away on April 21, 2022 in Shreveport, Louisiana after his courageous fight with cancer. Michael was a graduate of Woodlawn High School. He is one of six children. He retired from the City of Shreveport Water Department in 2006. His hobby was wood working. He made clocks, jewelry boxes and other items. He would often personalize them. He loved to grill, play his guitar and shop at Harbor Freight, where everyone got a flashlight, or a screwdriver set. Michael also enjoyed listening to music. He loved the guitar instrumentals of Chet Atkins, Roy Clark, Mill Tullus, and the music from the late Dino Zimmerman. He had a special love for animals especially young puppies and kittens. He spent most of his time with his little companion Booger and had a daily routine of giving CoCo (the dog next door) a treat. Michael's passion for animals allowed him to make regular donations to the ASPCA. Michael loved eagles, the American flag and wolves. He was a good father, brother and friend. He is going to be missed by all who knew him. Michael is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Donna Johnson Storey. He is survived by his son, Michael Shane Storey and fiancé, Amber Anderson; grandson, Michael Shane Storey, Jr. and wife, Donelle Brown Storey; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Lynn Storey and wife, Kathy, Lyndia Wood, Dennis Storey and wife, Judy, Roy Storey and Lisa Gahagan; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great- nieces and nephews. The family would like to express our gratitude to the staff at RoseView Nursing Home with a special thanks to Starla, Juanita and Tequilla. We would like to express our appreciation to Lifepath Hospice services and to Katie and her team. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials may be made to a local animal rescue of your choice.
