A funeral service for Michael Anthony Carter, 75, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery in Bossier City, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Officiating the service will be Russ Mason.

Michael was born on January 24, 1950, to Gladney Willis Carter and Kathryn Blackwell Carter in Minden, Louisiana, and went to Heaven on Sunday, May 25, 2025, in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Michael Carter was a devoted husband, skilled craftsman, and passionate gardener. He spent his career as a millwright at General Motors, where his precision and problem-solving skills defined his work before retiring. Outside of his profession, he took great care in maintaining his yard and garden, always sharing his harvest with neighbors. He also had a deep love for fast cars, trucks, and hot rods. Known for his sharp mathematical mind and keen memory, he approached everything with dedication and attention to detail.

For 57 years, Michael shared a loving and enduring marriage with his wife, Deborah Abbitt Carter. His commitment to family, his home, and the things he cherished left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Though he is no longer with us, the kindness, precision, and generosity he showed throughout his life will always be remembered.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Gladney and Kathryn Carter; sister, Lynette Sheets; and brothers, Wayne Carter and Douglas Carter. He is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Abbitt Carter; daughter, Marlette Mason, and husband, Russ Mason of Argyle, Texas; son, Blake Carter, and wife, Jennifer of Fort Walton, Florida; four grandsons, Braden Carter, Brendon Carter, Bryce Carter, and Zach Mason; sisters, Betty Fricke and husband, Buford and Karla Ruiz; brother, Ricky Carter and wife, Virginia.

Honoring Michael as pallbearers will be his grandsons, Bryce, Braden, Brendon, Zach, Russ, and his close friend, Joey Reed.

Michael’s son-in-law, Russ, will give the eulogy, sharing memories and heartfelt words that celebrate his life and the love he had for his family.
