Miami Bridges Spears

Funeral services for Miami Bridges Spears, 87, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held Tuesday, June 28, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Minister Wayne Bridges.

Miami was born on May 12, 1935 in Peason, Louisiana to Andrew and Ethel Bridges and passed away Friday, June 24, 2022 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

After graduating Florien High School in 1953, Miami moved to Shreveport to attend business school. She married A.J. Spears on June 25, 1954. She retired from Citizens National Bank after spending many years in banking. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, flower arranging and coloring in adult coloring books. Her biggest and proudest joy was her two daughters and grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Karen Spears McCall and husband, Johnny of Shreveport, Louisiana and Sandra Spears O’Farrill and husband, Rick of Crossville, Tennessee; granddaughters, Krystal McCall of Stonewall, Louisiana, Katie McCall and Brandon Pouncy of Shreveport, Louisiana, Jennifer O’Farrill, Kristin O’Farrill and grandson, Patrick O’Farrill all of Sunrise, Florida; brother, Andrew Lee Bridges, Jr. of Shreveport, Louisiana and ten great-grandchildren.

Honoring Miami as pallbearers will be Gary Byrd, Cliff Winburn, Ronnie Allen, Ken Barr, Tim Brossette and Jerad Bridges.
