A Memorial Service for Mereleen "Murl" Vowell Anders, 80, will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Officiating will be Chaplain Robert Baker.
Murl was born July 30, 1941 in Oak Grove, Louisiana to Loyce "Shorty" Howard and Martha Jane Foster Howard and passed away Saturday, December 25, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Murl loved going and playing bingo with her sister. She worked several jobs through her years, but most of all loved cooking in the diner in Doyline. Murl loved spending time with her family and friends especially her great-grandsons and her animals.
Murl is preceded in death by her parents; father of her children, Charles Edward Vowell; infant brother, Charles Ray Howard. She is survived by her daughters, Vicky Vowell Darst, Janice Vowell Posey and husband, Sam; son, Ricky Edward Vowell and wife, Pam; grandsons, David Wilburn, Cody Darst and wife, Tiffany, Clay Upchurch, Lang Edward Vowell, Hunter Green; granddaughter, Ava Vowell; great-grandsons, Corbin Darst, Colt Darst, Coy Darst, Harvey Upchurch; sisters, Bobbie Morgan, Shirley Austin and husband, Randy; brother, Roger Tindal; special friends, Tina Chamberlai and husband, Jerry, Bobby Brown; her beloved canine companion, Sophie; several family, nieces, nephews and friends.
