A graveside service for Mercer Mae Hunt Beene will be held at Hunt Cemetery in Henderson, Texas on Tuesday, December 8, 2020. Pastor Troy Parker will be officiating the graveside services. Mercer was born on April 7, 1930 in Henderson, Texas and passed away on December 3, 2020 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Daughter of Austin Cephas Hunt and Ida May Calmes Hunt. She married Orin Kenneth Beene on August 16, 1950 in Henderson, Texas. Mercer attended Kilgore Junior College. She was an avid reader, admired birds, and enjoyed playing the piano and listening to music. She was a member of the Church at Red River in Shreveport, Louisiana. Mercer is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Orin Kenneth Beene; parents, Austin Hunt and Ida May Hunt; her brother, Bobby Hunt and infant brother, James Hunt. She is survived by three daughters, Mary Ponder and husband, Stephen, Nancy Onarheim and husband, Glenn and Valerie Beene; five grandchildren, Peter Onarheim and wife, Tiffany, Doris Miller and husband, Paul, Amanda Munselle and husband, Tyler, Fannie Penick and husband, Billy and Kelli Onarheim, and nine great-grandchildren, Tyler Miller, Sarah Miller, Katie Miller, Emma Onarheim, Tinsley Onarheim, John Travis Munselle, Wyatt Munselle, Reagan Penick and Ryley Penick. The family would like to thank Dr. Scott Wiggins and staff at the Advanced Cardiovascular Specialists and Jennifer Angelo PA-C and staff at Dr. Roan Flenniken's practice.
