Melvadean, more commonly called "Dean" by those who knew her, was born in Beaumont, Texas to Bryan and Dorothy Reed Kyles on January 24, 1943. She left her earthly body and met her creator on Friday, January 22, 2021 at her home in Bossier City, Louisiana, while surrounded by her loved ones. Dean was a loving mother and wife. She was married to the love of her life, Ken, and enjoyed spoiling her family with her cooking and candy making. She could make something out of nothing, but her chili was what she was known for, and the rights to the last bowl was sure to start a fit. She also enjoyed making soft red peanut patties and pralines for her family. Dean became an ordained minister, and at a time, was affiliated with Lighthouse Ministries in Vivian, Louisiana. She married her sister, Linda, and brother-in-law, Bert, from her recliner just three weeks after having open heart surgery. Although she was petite and reserved, she was a fighter and survivor. Dean was loving and patient, but also feisty and charismatic, especially when it came to her faith. She had a faith that could not be matched by many. When she spoke the word of the Lord, it was powerful. She spoke with such conviction because she knew each and every word to be true. Even her last word in her earthly body, was praise given to God, "Hallelujah". Dean is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Addie Gilmore, Donna McGee, Nancy Jones, and Trudy Harper; and brothers, Samuel Kyles and Richard Kyles. She is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth Nelson; sons, Lenward Anderson and Nathan Plunkett and wife, Caryn; daughter, Dorothy Williams; step-daughter, Kathy Ziser; grandchildren, Misty Kay Pettypool and husband, Gary Kuykendenall , Daylynn Plunkett, Kenny Plunkett, Kaylee Plunkett, Teresa Montes and husband, Omar, Jesse Ziser, and Glen Lay; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Adrianna, D'ericka, Deanna, and Mykayla; sister, Linda Gogan and husband, Bert; and numerous nieces and nephews.
