LOGANSPORT, LA - Funeral services honoring the life of Melba Jean Beck, 84, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2018, at Rose-Neath Chapel in Logansport, LA with Rev. Charles Hall and Rev. Lance Cypert officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Logansport, LA. The family will receive friends at Rose-Neath Logansport Funeral Home on Sunday, July 15, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Jean was born October 30, 1933, in Logansport, LA to Isaac and Mary Barfield Heard and passed away on July 12, 2018 at her residence. Preceding Jean in death were her parents, first husband, Herbert "Hub" Ray Cox; second husband, Eurus "Beck" Beck; her siblings, Huey Heard, Dr. Merrell Barfield, Jr., Ernest Barfield and Kathryn Ritter. Those left behind to cherish her memory is her sons, Dwight Beck and wife Cynthia of Kilgore, TX, Jimmy Randy and wife Christi of Bossier City, LA, Ray Cox and fiancé Hope Creelman of Logansport, LA; daughter, Alinda Lowe and husband Jerry of Logansport, LA; siblings, John Barfield, Mary Foster, Kelly Barfield, Yvonne Bell, Dr. Billy Barfield, Jerry Vessey; seven grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives. Honoring Jean as pallbearers will be Dean English, Cary Johnson, David Heard, Gary Henderson and Kevin Myers.
