In Loving Memory of Melanie Shoffner Pearce.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Wife, Mama, and Nina, Melanie Shoffner Pearce, on August 5, 2026, at the age of 63.

To know her was to know unconditional love. She was the most loving, giving, and selfless woman, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her family was the center of her world, and she poured her heart into being a devoted Wife, Mother, and an adoring Nina. She never missed an opportunity to make those she loved feel safe, supported, and cherished.

She loved to cook big delicious meals for her family and friends any chance she had, but she especially loved cooking Thanksgiving dinner for as many people who would come. She loved playing games around the kitchen table with her family, especially Apples to Apples and Trivial Pursuit. She would never miss an episode of Jeopardy and loved watching Hallmark Christmas movies throughout the entire year. She loved all the holidays, loved hiding and hunting Easter eggs at Easter and loved playing White Elephant at Christmas. She was an avid reader and loved trips to the library. She loved having gatherings with family and friends often. She especially loved sleepovers with her grandkids, whom she loved so very deeply.

She had a huge heart that welcomed everyone, often considered anyone and everyone family. She had a kindness that expected nothing in return and a quiet strength that carried so many through life’s hardest moments. Her compassion, generosity, and unwavering faith touched countless lives, leaving behind a legacy that will continue through the family she loved so deeply.

She is survived by her loving Husband of 40 years Trent W. Pearce; her son Drew Pearce; her daughter Jessica Hooper and Husband, Zach; her daughter Lacey Lemaire and Wife, Ashley; her biological daughter Tiffany Traylor Cormier and Husband, Anthony, along with Tiffany’s parents Melvin and Lynn Traylor; her grandchildren Anthony “AJ” Cormier, Jr., Jackson Cormier, Aria Cormier, Alyna Hooper, Grayson Hooper, Zoey Carter, Mitchell Hooper, Lydia Hooper, Isaac Carter, Elijah Hooper, Kylie Williams, Brandon “Junior” Williams, Piper Lemaire, Lux Lemaire; her beloved Father Charles “Daddy” Shoffner and beloved Stepmother Lidell “Di” Shoffner; her sister Pam Baker and Husband, Don; her sister Madison Shoffner; her cousin, whom she considered a sister, Donna Sabatini; her brothers Chuck Shoffner and partner, Heidi, Douglas Davis, Jr. and Wife Casey, Dwayne Davis and Wife Carla, Darrell Davis and Wife Stephanie, Danny Davis, and Wesley Davis and Wife Lori; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, many “bonus” children, and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her Mother Nancy Wyse; her biological Father Douglas Davis, Sr.; her Grandparents Don and Ollie Wyse; her Grandparents Albert and Ethel Wilda Shoffner; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of our Lord. As Scripture reminds us:

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." Matthew 5:4

We will forever miss her gentle spirit, warm embrace, and endless love. While our lives will never be the same without her, we are grateful for every moment we were blessed to share with her. Her love will remain in our hearts forever, and her memory will continue to guide us every day.

“Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate." Proverbs 31:31

Funeral services for Melanie will be held at Kilpatrick Roseneath Funeral Home in Minden, Louisiana. Visitation will be held Friday, August 14, 2026 from 5:00-7:00pm. Funeral service will be held Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 1:00pm. Service will be officiated by Pastor Randy Goudeau and Pastor Monroe Mercer.
