McArthur Joseph, Sr., age 73 of Mansura, passed away on September 3, 2025. He was born to Edward and Annie Mae Joseph in Long bridge, Louisiana.
Mr. McArthur grew up with a strong appreciation for hard work, the outdoors and the importance of family. He lived a full life, spending much of his time outdoors and on his farm where he raised chickens, ducks and hogs. Hunting was among his favorite pastimes, and he found peace and purpose in being close to nature. Musically gifted, he enjoyed sharing his talents and bringing joy to others. Above all, McArthur Joseph will be remembered as a true family man—hardworking, kind, and generous. His legacy of love, laughter and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
McArthur was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Annie Joseph; son, Terry Scott; brother, Bertrand Joseph, Sr.; four sisters, Sylvia Mae Dobison, Macedonia Turner, Gloria Onezine and Sedonia Carmouche.
Those left to cherish his memory are his three sons, McArthur Jr. Joseph of Baton Rouge; Gary Joseph of Marksville, and Travis Wayne Joseph also of Marksville; five daughters, Stella Joseph, Caldonia Marie Ford, Annie Mae Joseph, Kyla Renee Joseph and Traci Nicole Joseph, all of Marksville. Two sisters; Bernadine Thomas and Theresa Mose both of Marksville as well as forty-five grandchildren and forty-six great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
The arrangements have been entrusted to Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Marksville, Louisiana.
