In Loving Memory of Mayme L. Rascoe Binning

Mayme L. Rascoe Binning, 93, of Mansfield, Louisiana, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter, faith, and memories that will be treasured by all who knew her.

Born on May 7, 1933, to Anna Bell and LB Lollar, Mayme lived a remarkable 93 years. She spent her entire professional life in banking, where she worked as a teller, loan officer, and Assistant Vice President. She was proud of her work and took great pride in serving the people of her community. Her strong work ethic, intelligence, and dedication were qualities that stayed with her throughout her life.

Those who knew Mayme best knew that her greatest treasures were not found in a bank. Her greatest treasures were her faith, her family, and her friends. Above all else, Mayme loved the Lord. Her faith was a foundation of her life and guided the way she loved, served, and cared for others.

She loved her family deeply and never took those relationships for granted. Her granddaughter, Brooke Craig Cassel and her husband, Billy; her grandson, Bennie Womack and his wife, Amy; and her great-grandson, Mixon Chase Mik, held a very special place in her heart. She also loved her nieces and nephews dearly and cherished the many friendships she made throughout her long and meaningful life.

Mayme had a personality that was impossible to forget. She had a quick wit, a sharp sense of humor, and a way of delivering a perfectly timed one-liner that could leave everyone laughing. She knew how to make people smile, often with just a few words. Those little sayings, her laughter, and the stories that surrounded them will be some of the memories her loved ones treasure most.

She was preceded in death by her parents L.B. and Anna Bell Lollar; husband, James Mixon Rascoe Sr.; her daughter, Lynda Rascoe Craig; son, James Mixon “Mickey” Rascoe; sister, Sandra Cosby; brother, Frank Lollar; and husband, Fred L. Binning.

Mayme’s life was not measured simply by the years she lived, but by the people she loved and the lives she touched. She taught those around her the value of working hard, loving deeply, having faith, and never being afraid to laugh.

Those who loved Mayme will miss her more than words can express. They will miss her voice, her stories, her humor, her wisdom, and especially the feeling of being loved by her. Her family finds comfort knowing that she is now at peace and resting in the presence of the Lord she loved so dearly

Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, her friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was deeply loved, she will be deeply missed, and she will never be forgotten.

A graveside service celebrating Mayme’s life will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Highland Cemetery in Mansfield, Louisiana. The service will be officiated by Dr. Thumper Miller, Pastor of Open Door Fellowship.

Pallbearers will be: Doug Williams, Kevin Chamberlin, Wade Lollar, Randy Pearson, Mixon Mik, Bennie Womack, Linkin Lewter.

Family and friends are invited to gather together to celebrate the life of a remarkable woman, to share memories, and to give thanks for the 93 years God blessed them with Mayme.
