Maxine Johnson

Naomi "Maxine" Johnson, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 11, 2022 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Maxine was born on October 27, 1934 in Chicot, Arkansas to Charles H. Johnson and Mary Virgin Miller Johnson. Maxine was an avid reader with a thirst for knowledge. She loved her children and grandchildren. She is now resting with the love of her life, Bill F. Johnson, to whom she was married for 63 years. Before retiring, she worked in Human Resources in the Banking Industry. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Maxine is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill F. Johnson; and great-grandchild, Alex Preston. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Greg F. Johnson (Linda); Mark P. Johnson (Glenda); grandchildren, Lindsay Loy and husband, David; Jerame Johnson and wife, Laura; Greg Clifton Johnson and wife, Dana; Christina Weaver and husband, Mason; Lauri Woodson and husband, Grant; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous other extended family members and friends. Maxine was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be sadly missed by everyone. The family suggests memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
