Mauver Penix Woods

Funeral services honoring the life of Mrs. Mauver Penix Woods will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Hurricane Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. until service time on Monday. Bro. Randy Ray will be officiating the services.

Mauver Dyne Penix Woods was born on June 12, 1930, in Arcadia, Louisiana to Claude and Ruby Almond Penix. She passed away on June 12, 2025, in Arcadia, Louisiana with her loving family by her side. Dyne worked at Claiborne Academy as the bus driver and lunchroom manager. After leaving Claiborne Academy, she worked at the Bienville Parish Health Unit. Dyne loved to be outside from an early age, and mowed her yard, until she was no longer able to. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Dyne is preceded by her parents Claude and Ruby Penix, husband James Clifton Woods, daughter Linda Chandler, sister Juanita Sanders, and by brothers Lavelle Penix and Hardy Penix.

Left to cherish her memories are her sons; Jimmy Woods and wife Barbara, Steve Woods, and Ricky Woods and wife Sharra, grandchildren; Haley Woods and Morgan Moore, James Clifton Woods, Cheyenne Reed and husband Jordan, Dusty Woods, Whitney Woods, Chris Chandler and wife Christy, and Brad Chandler and wife Michelle, great-grandchildren; Chloe, Aden, Allee, Bella, Clinton, Xander, Reminton, Bryson, Olivia, Kayden, Hadley, Connor, Casey, McKenzie, and Colton, great-great grandchild Elijah, and by numerous other nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.

Honoring Dyne as pallbearers will be Chris Chandler, Brad Chandler, Dusty Woods, Cliff Woods, Connor Chandler, Casey Chandler, Aden Woods, and Morgan Moore.

The family would like to thank Willow Ridge Nursing Home for their love and care of Dyne.
