Maureen Waldron Trussell, age 95, passed from this life on August 9, 2022. Beloved wife, sister, aunt and friend, she is remembered for her loving heart, gentle spirit, and service to others.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Maureen will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 14, 2022 at Rose-Neath's Funeral Home Chapel, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating will be Rev. Kaylan Walker. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at the funeral home.

Maureen was born on December 3, 1926 in Ruston, LA.  She was a faithful believer in the Lord Jesus Christ from an early age. She was an active member of Noel Memorial United Methodist Church and the Women's Sunday School Class. She was instrumental in establishing the Noel Food Pantry where she devotedly served and stocked the shelves for over 37 years. She enjoyed gardening and working in the church and helping others.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Waymon and Jesse Waldron; her beloved husband, Donald Lamar Trussell; two sisters, Narvis Ragus and her husband, Lyman and Mabel Schilling and her husband, Bill; nephew, Charles E. Ragus; and niece, Marilyn Schilling Snodgrass.

She is survived by her sister in-law, Mildred Trussell McGehee of Ruston; niece-in-law, Peggy Ragus of Dallas, TX; nieces, Patricia M. Flournoy, Deborah M. Lynch and Dell M. Jones, all of Ruston; nephews, Don M. McGehee, Dr. David W. McGehee and Lucius D. McGehee, Jr., all of Ruston; great-nieces, Shannon D. Houser of Forney, TX, Debbie R. Cook of DeBerry, TX, Stacey R. Cernicky of Allen, TX and Jenni R. McGaha of Plano, TX; great-great-nieces and nephews,  Kaylee and Kristin Gault; Alex and Alex Cook, Kelsey Cook, and Courtney and Will Bishnow, Andrew, Caitlin, Nicholas and Ashley Cernicky, Chandler, Riley and Sadie Jane McGaha; and a host of great-great-great-nieces and nephews and many friends.

Honoring Mrs. Trussell as pallbearers will be Don M. McGehee, Dr. David W. McGehee, Lucius D. McGehee, Jr., Dr. Robert W. Flournoy, Dr. Wesley O. Lynch, III, Thomas B. Jones and Louis "Buddy" Cook.
