Mattie Sepulvado Garcie, 96, of Shreveport, LA was born on August 17, 1929, in Ebarb, LA to the late Steve and Ascencion Sepulvado. She entered into rest Sunday, August 31, 2025, in Shreveport, LA.
A Funeral Mass celebrating Mrs. Garcie will be held at St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church, Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Road, Shreveport, LA. The family will receive friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, LA on Friday, September 5, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary starting at 7:30 p.m.
Mrs. Garcie retired from AT&T. After retirement, she continued to make the best tamales in Shreveport. Through her journey, she showed devotion to her family and is known for her kindness and compassion towards others. Over the years, she touched countless lives through everyday kindness, and with a heart that never turned away someone in need.
Mrs. Garcie was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Henry R. Garcie; daughter, Mary Elaine (Garcie) Hawkins; granddaughter, Amber Nicole (Nikki) Garcie Koll; four brothers; and seven sisters. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Pat Stogsdill and husband, Richard; son, Buck Garcie and wife, Janis; grandson, Jason Hawkins; granddaughter, Crystal Carter and husband, Jimmy; great-grandchildren, Daniel Hawkins, Lindsey Hawkins, Taylor Hill, and Madison Hill; three great-great-grandchildren, Breauna (Bre) Koll, Aarianna Hall, and AJ Hal; and numerous nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends; all of whom adored her.
The family would like to give thanks to Superior Hospice and a special thanks to Shari Chowns for her compassionate care and devotion to Mattie during her time of need.
Honoring Mattie as pallbearers will be Jimmy Carter, Richard Stogsdill, Ronnie Garcia, William Stogsdill, Wes Malmay, and Raymond Sepulvado. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be John Louis, Vicky Sepulvado, Barbara and Don Lovell, and Wendy Hillman-Faris.
