Mary Elizabeth Weaver

A graveside service for Mary Elizabeth Weaver will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Rose-Neath Cemetery. Officiating will be Chaplain Gladney Hunt. She passed away on July 12, 2019 in Bossier City, LA. Mary Elizabeth was born to Paul and Elsie Lindy in Hazelton, Indiana on February 19, 1935. One of four children, she remained close to all of her siblings and their children throughout her life. Mary, Margie, Burkee, and Freddie always looked after one another; as children, as young adults, and later in life as well. Mary married her husband, Joe Weaver in 1951. Together they raised a family and remained together until Joe's death. As Mary aged, she moved in with her son, Frank and his wife, Cathy, who served as her primary caregiver. She had a close bond with their daughter Sonya, her husband, Jeff, and their three boys - Christian, John, and Owen. For years, Mary was the party planner and event coordinator of the family. She hosted countless Halloween, Easter and Christmas parties that to this day, are remembered fondly by her friends and family. Mary was also a crucial member of her extended family. For decades she helped plan and organize family reunions with hundreds in attendance. Mary loved the beach and later in life spent time camping on Holly Beach in South Louisiana. She was quite the artist. Whether she was painting, sewing, or cooking - she spent a lot of time creating. A natural teacher, Mary would often involve others in her projects. Mary was full of quick wit and humor. She laughed at every possible moment, and went out of her way to make others laugh - even if it were at her own expense. Mary loved spending time with her friends and family and was quick to lend a helping hand, a listening ear, and a kind word to those in need. Mary is survived by her son, Frank Weaver and wife, Cathy; granddaughter, Sonya and husband, Jeff and great grandsons, Christian, John and Owen.
