Mary Ann Upchurch

Funeral services for Mary Ann Upchurch, 88, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, August 13, 2018 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel with Rev. Kathy Fitzhugh and Rev. Juan Huertas officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mary Ann was born January 9, 1930 in Shreveport, LA and she earned her wings on August 8, 2018. She enjoyed working with her husband every day at the Cotton Boll Grill for 48 years, making Mayhaw jelly for her many special friends, her churches, and quilting with her friends. She loved God, her family, and work. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Josie Duckett and brother, Allan. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 70 years, Max Upchurch; daughters, Tamara Upchurch McKinley, Terri Upchurch Pyles and husband Mike, and Taryn Upchurch Rogers; grandchildren, Amanda Loftin and husband Jeff, Adam Pyles and wife Lyndsey, and Melissa Rogers; great-grandchildren, Grace, Railey, Beaux, Max, Reese, Nathan, Tanner, and Josie; and her nieces and nephews. Honoring Mary Ann as pallbearers will be Adam and Max Pyles, Tanner Malone, Jeff and Beaux Loftin, Brett Rowell, Kirby Ramsey, Severn Doughty, Jay Reese, Pat Dodd, and Dan Scurlock. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Melvin McConnell, Ray Scurlock, Pat McGovern, Bobby Waddell, and Mack Ramsey. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of donor's choice. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. James Jackson.
