Mary Jean Turner

SHREVEPORT, LA - A Graveside Service for Mary Jean Turner, 91, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 9, 2018, at Forest Park West, with Brother Buddy Hankins of Southside Baptist Church , Shreveport, LA officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 8, 2018, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, LA. Mary was born November 2, 1927, in Doyline, LA to Willie Allen Griffin Shadley and Wesley Walker Shadley, Sr. She was a longtime member of Southside Baptist Church and had been from the 1940's. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 53 years Samuel Delwood Turner; sister Ellen Mae Neal and brother Wesley Walker Shadley, Jr. Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Elbert Gene Lemons and wife Judy of Vivian, LA and Mark Robin Turner and wife Lisa of Shreveport, LA; three granddaughters; two grandsons; seven great-grandchildren. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Doctors and staff at Christus Schumpert Hospital, staff and nurses at Amedisys Hospice, and to the staff at Trinity Home Health for the compassion and care shown to Mary.
