Mary Sepulvado

We celebrate the life of Mary Pawnee Sepulvado, a longtime resident of Keithville, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, who peacefully went home to the Lord on April 27, 2026, at the age of 85.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr. in Shreveport, Louisiana. An intombment will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd. in Shreveport. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. prior to the services at Rose-Neath.

Born on August 28, 1940, in Shreveport, to Hosea and Lorena Sepulvado, Mary grew up with strong family values and a heart devoted to love, faith, and caring for others. She built a life rooted in kindness, strength, and unwavering dedication to the people she loved most. Her warmth and compassion made home a place of comfort, and her quiet strength carried her family through generations.

On May 17, 1958, Mary married her sweetheart, John Douglas Sepulvado, beginning 67 beautiful years of marriage. Together they raised five children: Tammy Johnson, Douglas Clark Sepulvado, Velvet McGraw, Penny Brown (married to Jeff), and Kelvin Sepulvado (married to Ruth). Her legacy lives on through her six treasured grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her endless joy and pride.

Mary was a woman who believed in hard work and quiet dedication. Her first job was at a paper packing warehouse, where she began building the strong work ethic that would define her life. She spent nine years with Western Electric and later dedicated 21 years as a bus driver with the Caddo Parish School Board. No matter where she worked, Mary was known for her reliability, kindness, and steady presence. She was also a faithful worshiper at St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church, where her faith remained a steady foundation throughout her life.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Hosea and Lorena Sepulvado; her beloved husband, John Douglas Sepulvado; her brother, Gene Sepulvado; and her sister, Judy Salter. While her family grieves her passing, they find comfort in knowing she is reunited with those she loved so dearly.

Her life was defined by gentleness, strength, and unconditional love for her family. Whether through her comforting words, her quiet sacrifices, or simply her loving presence, Mary touched countless lives and leaves behind a legacy that will never fade.

The family wishes to honor Mary’s pallbearers: Gary Flint, Blake Robertson, Ray Sonnier, Pete Hawthorne, Jason Beck, Lemiel Harring, and Waylon Salter. Honorary pallbearers are her late nephews, Carroll Lewis Sepulvado Jr., Dennis Cade Sepulvado, Randy Laroux, and Dale Laroux. Mary would have been deeply touched to be carried to her resting place by these men, each chosen for the love, respect, and family bonds they shared throughout her life.

The family also wishes to give special recognition to her grandchildren, Jason Beck, Amanda Wortman, and Hedi Beck, for dedicating so much of their time, love, and care to her during her final months. Their unwavering devotion brought comfort, peace, and dignity to Mary, and their kindness will always be remembered by the entire family.

The Sepulvado family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the medical staff at Carpenter House who cared for Mary with such compassion in her final days.

Though we mourn her passing, we rejoice in knowing Mary is now reunited with her beloved husband, Douglas, welcomed into the arms of her Savior. Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and her love will live on in the hearts of her family forever.
