Mrs. Mary Grace Hicks Neal was borne October 3, 1932 in Lincoln Parish to Carl Martin Hicks and Pearly Mae Hughes Hicks. She entered into rest on June 21, 2026 with family at her side.
Grace loved the Lord and leaned on Him in all life situations and instructed her family to always do the same. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Homer and later years attended Grace Bible Church.
Grace was a beautiful, kind and strong spirited lady. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she cherished her family deeply. She delighted in family gatherings and enjoyed preparing elaborate meals for those special occasions. Some of her special dishes included turkey and dressing, beef brisket, pecan and sweet potato pies, and delicious holiday fruit cookies and chocolate pecan fudge. Grace’s hobbies included cooking, reading, and gardening. She had many gardens of flowers and vegetables. Grace took meticulous care of each plant to ensure they reached their full flower, fruit or vegetable. Day lilies were her specialty and she had many different kinds of which she knew each name.
Grace loved people and had many friends. She greatly enjoyed her jobs working in clothing and jewelry sales where she herself always dressed for success! In her latter years, she gained a new family of friends at the Presbyterian Village where she always greeted everyone with a smile, wave, hug or kiss.
To know Grace was to love her and may her legacy of love continue on through her family, friends and loved ones.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and father of her children, Thomas Allen “Tom” Robinson and husband Billy Neal, siblings, Leroy Hicks, Louise Vonheeder, Marguerite Ferguson, Robbie Allgood, and Billy Ralph Hicks.
She is survived by her children, Bob Robinson (Betsy) and Tommye Jane English (Gary); grandchildren, Adam Robinson (Missy), Vance Robinson (Valarie), Natalie Dean and Sean Dean (Marie); great-grandchildren, Riley, Anna, Addison, Carley, Brynlee, Braxton, and Mia; numerous nieces, nephews, and her long time best friend, Dorothy Ruple and numerous other friends.
Grace’s family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Scott and Dr. Mark Haynes and all the Presbyterian Village family.
A memorial service will be held for Mary Grace Neal, age 93, at First Baptist Church Homer on 18th day of July, 2026 at 10:00 A.M.
