Mary Regina Mayfield, 63, of Louisiana, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and service. Born on January 13, 1962, in Newport News, Virginia, she was the youngest of eight children. After marrying the love of her life, Richard “Ric” Mayfield Sr., the couple made their home in Louisiana.

Mary was a devoted wife, proud mother, and dedicated public servant. With a heart full of kindness, she devoted her life to helping others, always striving to ensure that those in need had the support and resources to succeed. Just like her beloved mother, Mary had a generous spirit and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.

She is now reunited in heaven with her cherished parents, William and Mary Petty, and her siblings, Jane and William Petty Jr.

Mary’s memory will forever be treasured by those she leaves behind, including her husband, Richard “Ric” Mayfield Sr.; her children, Richard Mayfield II and wife Samantha of Shreveport, LA, and Erin Parish and husband Jonathan Parish of Robeline, LA; and her stepdaughters, Amy Hall and husband Charles Hall, Rebecca Thompson and husband Joe Thompson, and Sarah Ford and husband Ashton Ford. Her sisters Kathleen Petty Mousavizadegan of Yorktown, VA ; Rosemary Elaine Hobart and her husband John Stockton of Hampton VA, Barbara Ellen Petty and her husband Daniel Waddle of Leesburg VA; Marjorie Petty McGuirk and her husband David of Asheville, NC; Loretta Ann Ward, VA.

She is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Caston, Reelen, Olivia, Nora, Jenna, Ian, Andrew, Ryan, Cameron, Morgan, Gage, and Jersey.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 522 E Flournoy Lucas Rd, Shreveport, LA 71115.

Mary Regina Mayfield’s warmth, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family and community will never be forgotten.
