Mary Sue Marioneaux

Mary Sue Marioneaux, age 85, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026.

Sue was the daughter of the late Mr. Harry B. Marioneaux, Sr. and Mrs. Lela Mae Johnson Marioneaux of Shreveport. She graduated from Fair Park High School in 1958 and then attended Kilgore College where she was a proud member of the Rangerettes Dance Team. Sue returned to Louisiana and graduated from Northwestern State College, as it was called in 1962, with a degree in Business.

Sue was a woman of remarkable faith, strength, independence, and an unwavering spirit of determination to succeed in the “man’s world” that existed at the time. Her spirit of competition was certainly fueled early in life while traveling with her family’s Marioneaux Racing Team to car, motorcycle and speedboat races

Sue worked for her father at the Brewster Company, a well-respected manufacturer of oilfield drilling equipment founded by great-grandfather, H. C. Brewster. Sue later enjoyed varying careers in retail sales, interior design, swimming pool construction, and ultimately finished her work life in healthcare at Willis-Knighton Hospital.

However, it was Sue’s time spent on the Marioneaux Ranch working as a “Lady Cattle Rancher” that she spoke about most passionately. Being on the ranch and taking care of God’s creatures, both great and small, brought her true happiness. The number of dogs, cats, and other animals Sue helped rescue and care for are countless.

She is survived by her daughter and one true love, Tami Rollins of Stonewall, and her son-in-law, Lonnie Bloxom, as well as lifelong friends and extended family: Wanda Hagmeyer and her daughter Wanda, Joann Carter and her granddaughter Leilani, Patty and Greg Tripp, Natalie and Andrew Sherrard (baby Marshall), Jason Hicks, Carolyn Tate, Kathy Freeman and Rita Summers.

Pallbearers will be Lonnie Bloxom, Bob Pridgen, Greg Tripp, Andrew Sherrard, Frank Leone, William Averitt and honorary pallbearer, Kyle Moore.

There will be a private service for immediate family and friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home and interment will follow in the family plot at Forest Park Cemetery on St. Vincent Avenue.

In lieu of flowers, please share Sue’s love for animals and donate to a no-kill animal shelter of your choice.
