Mary S. Mahan

Mary S. Mahan, age 88, passed away on December 9, 2017. She was born on September 30, 1929 in Mansfield, Louisiana to Albert and Susie Shelton. Mary is survived by the love of her life John, her husband of 69 years; daughters, Paula Mahan Garrett and husband Richard Garrett of Baton Rouge and Priscilla Mahan Rawls and husband Stephen Rawls of Anacoco; son, John Mahan, Jr. and wife Susan Mahan of Shreveport; grandchildren, Christopher Rawls, Sarah Garrett, Scott Garrett, Jeremy Patterson, and Derin Patterson; great-granddaughter, Kylee Rawls; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Susie Shelton; brother, Robert Shelton, sisters, Nancy Gaspard and Shirley Smith; and grandson, Casey Rawls. Visitation with the family will be at Rose-Neath Southside on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. with graveside services to follow at Centuries Memorial Park, officiated by Pastor Rich Varner of Keithville United Methodist Church. The family would like to express special thanks to her caregiver, Ms. Rhonda, Home Instead Senior Care, and to the nurses at Willis-Knighton South.
