Mary Lynn Cook

Services honoring the life of Mrs. Mary Lynn Cook will be held on Monday, October 6, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Mt. Mariah Church with Rev. Perry Anderson and Christopher Cook officiating. The burial will follow services at Mt. Mariah Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Arcadia.

Mary Lynn was born September 10, 1940, in Minden, Louisiana to Prentis and Fannie Mae White. She entered peacefully into rest on October 2, 2025, at her home in Athens, Louisiana, with her loving family by her side.

Mary Lynn enjoyed quilting and working in her yard with her flowers. Her greatest love in life was her family. Mary Lynn was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Mary Lynn is preceded in death by her parents Prentis and Fannie Mae White, brother Benny White, sister JoAnn Nelson, and daughter-in-law Fanni Cook.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Roderick Cook, children; Charles Cook (Lisa), Paul Cook (Keitha), Greta Cook Grigg (Gene), and Keith Cook (Janet), grandchildren; Christopher (Emily), Peyton (Abe), Ryan, Schyler, Isaac, Aaron, Emily, and Stephanie, great grandchildren; Ellie, Indy, Henry, Owen, Liam, and Olivia, sister Lenettie Hasy, brother Gerald White, special family friend Geneva Taylor, who was like a sister to her, and by numerous other nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.

Honoring Mary Lynn as pallbearers will be Christopher Cook, Ryan Cook, Schyler Cook, Isaac Cook, Aaron Cook, and Jess Johnson. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Buzzy Buckner, Mike Martin, Ross Moak, and Scott Davidson.
