Mary Alice Goode

Mary Alice Goode, 74, was born on March 5, 1952, to James Landon Bier, Jr., and Alice Treventh Edwards Bier in Martins Ferry, Ohio, and passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026, at her home in Cotton Valley, Louisiana.

Mary was a lifelong lover of all animals, but she held a special place in her heart for dogs. Throughout her life, she worked as a dog groomer, breeder, and handler, and she proudly showed her dogs for many years. She also enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially when she was fishing or deer hunting.

We take comfort in knowing she is at peace, reunited with the animals she loved so dearly, and forever held in God’s care.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, James Landon Bier, Jr., and Alice Treventh Edwards Bier; and her first husband, William Matheas. She is survived by her beloved husband of over 24 years, Charles Goode; sister, Patricia Danver; stepsons, John Wesley Goode, Charles Richard Goode, II, and Dennis Dean Webster; and stepdaughter, Chrissy Marie Rainey.
