Mary Elise Sartori Koch

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Elise Sartori Koch, 95, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 14, 2022 at The Cathedral of St. John Berchmans, 939 Jordan St., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the Cathedral. Burial will follow at Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent in Shreveport, Louisiana. Celebrating the Mass will be Father Charles Glorioso.

Mary was born on June 20, 1926 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Frank Paul Sartori and Ethel Margaret Cobb Sartori and passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2022 in Shreveport, Louisiana after a brief illness. Mary graduated St. Vincent Academy in Shreveport and earned her Bachelor of Science degree at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. She taught at St. Joseph School and St. Vincent Academy for 30 years. She was a member of The Cathedral of St. John Berchmans. She was a docent at Meadows Museum and a volunteer at Crisis Pregnancy Center. She was an avid bridge player for over 60 years, enjoyed gardening and was interested in the arts. She was a wonderful cook and the family will miss her cooking.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of almost 71 years, Raymond Benjamin Koch, Sr.; brothers, Frank Paul Sartori, Jr. and wife, Jean, Charles William Sartori and wife, Marie and James Preston Sartori who passed as an infant. Left to cherish her memory are sons, Raymond Benjamin Koch, Jr. and wife, Debbie, Frank Paul Koch and wife, Wanda, Charles Richard Koch and wife, Melinda; daughter, Mary Catherine Koch Townley and husband, John; grandchildren, Ryan Koch, Brad Koch, Micah Koch, Meredith Townley, Jacob Koch, Matthew Koch; six great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff at Willis-Knighton Pierremont for their care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to Society of St. Vincent de Paul, P.O. Box 127, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70821 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
