A graveside service honoring the life of Mary Jane Dumas will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 7, 2022 in Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Road, Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Brother Clay Fuqua, assisted by Brother Dale Sauls of First Baptist Church of Blanchard.

Mary Jane Dumas was born January 17, 1943 in Benton, Louisiana to Melvin Ethridge and Mary Andrews and passed away peacefully at her home in Blanchard, Louisiana, Saturday, September 3, 2022.

Mary was a devout Christian woman who had a passion for the church and for Jesus. She enjoyed gardening and working in her flower beds, soaking up the sunshine. She loved spending time with her family and spoiling her grandbabies. She was especially known for her incredible cooking for her beloved husband, Denny.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Willie “Punch” Ethridge, Larry Flowers and Albert Ethridge.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 60 years, Dennis “Denny” Dumas of Blanchard, LA; son, Brad Dumas and wife, Terri of Hosston, LA; daughter, Teri Lynn Dumas Paul and husband, John, of Mooringsport, LA; sister, Charlotte Dunlop of Blanchard, LA; brother, Lawrence Flowers and wife, Debbie, of Blanchard, LA; grandchildren, Jessica Paul Oliver and husband, Adam, Hannah Paul Brownsberger and husband, Evan,  and Dylan Dumas; great-grandchildren, Liam Paul Oliver, Whitley Sage Dumas, Andie Lynn Oliver, and Lane Hunter Brownsberger; sister-in-law, Velta Ethridge; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Linda Bailey.

Honoring Mary as pallbearers will be John Paul, Adam Oliver, Evan Brownsberger, Dylan Dumas, Doug McCoy, and Lane Bonds.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial maybe made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
