Beloved mother Mary “Fran” Frances Denney, 79, of Keithville, Louisiana, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 25, 2024. 

Mrs. Denney was born in Franklin, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late James Wesley Watts and Mary Marie Watts. She is preceded in death by her husband, Parkie Lloyd Denney; sister, Patsy Lee Watts; and brother, James Herman Watts. 

Fran retired from the General Motors Corporation, where she was a team leader and worked on the line. She was a hardworking woman and volunteered her time to the UAW Local 2166 in Shreveport, Louisiana and Local 1853 in Spring Hill, Tennessee. Fran was also an avid member of the women’s committee volunteering to help families in need and many fundraisers to help the community. One of her hobbies was painting ceramics and making porcelain dolls. She enjoyed spending time with family and always had a camera in her hand to mark the occasion of family gatherings. 

Left to cherish her memory are her two children, John LaLena and wife, Sandy, and Kim Slaughter and husband, Jim; five grandchildren, Tyler LaLena and wife, Jessica, Nikolaus LaLena and wife, Larissa, Mallory Parker and husband, Maclane, Trent Taylor, and Hunter Taylor; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Elizabeth Mullins and Marilyn Watts. 

A celebration of life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, in Keithville, Louisiana at Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery. Fran will be laid to rest with her beloved husband. 

Fran will be deeply missed, always loved, and forever in the hearts of her family.
