Funeral services for Mary Minter Cross will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr. in Shreveport, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with the funeral service immediately following. Officiating the service will be Jerry Kennedy of Life Tabernacle. Interment will be at Forest Park West Cemetery in Shreveport. Mary was born July 1, 1933 in Buckner, Arkansas, and she met Jesus on Monday, November 29, 2021 at the age of 88. She married the love of her life, Chester Cross, in 1953, and they were together for 43 years prior to his death in 1996. She was a dedicated sister, wife, mother, and grandmother, who could always be trusted to listen, love unconditionally, and never judge or criticize. Her family was so important to her, and she loved them all. Mary is preceded in death by her husband; her parents, Louie and Avis Lawrence Minter; one sister, Flora Radar; and four brothers, David Minter, JC "Sonny" Minter, Herman Minter, and Jerry Minter. She is survived by one son, Steve Cross and wife, Mona; one daughter, Vicki Rowe and husband, Lynn, Jr.; one brother, Jimmy Minter and wife, Connie; one brother-in-law, Samuel M. Cross and wife, Mary; five grandchildren, Brandon Cross, Megan Cross Haynes and husband, Coleman, Penny Lopez and husband, Joe, Scott Owens, Derek Rowe and wife, Cheryl; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and an extended Arkansas and Texas family of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Honoring Mawmaw as pallbearers will be grandsons and family: Scott Owens, Brandon Cross, Derek Rowe, Lynn Rowe, Jr., and Coleman Haynes.
